Lapoint
Surf camp booking company that sells trips online through a 9-step booking funnel.
AI agents audited and rebuilt measurement across GTM, GA4 and BigQuery: 40+ assets deployed under a human-approval gate, the full 9-step booking funnel instrumented, 3 mis-mapped steps caught before they corrupted the data.
Where it stood
Purchases Meta could not deduplicate
The Purchase event ID was regenerated every time the tag fired, so browser and server events never matched and deduplication never engaged.
Events from outside the container
Most Purchase hits reaching the Meta pixel did not come from the GTM container at all. Nobody could say which code was telling Meta what.
A funnel that didn't match the booking flow
The booking funnel had 9 steps, but 3 of them were mapped to the wrong events, so the reports blamed the wrong step for drop-off.
Clutter in the container
Old tags were still live next to the new ones, which made every change riskier.
What we did
Agent-led audit over MCP
AI agents read the GTM container, GA4 and BigQuery directly and listed every tag, trigger and event behind the funnel, so the specialist started from a full map, not a sample.
A deduplication contract
One stable event ID, shared by the browser pixel and the server event, written down as a contract the client's developers can keep.
Six Meta event tags rebuilt
Plus an over-firing diagnostic that traced the hits arriving from outside the container back to their source.
The full booking funnel instrumented
All 9 steps mapped and sent to GA4 and BigQuery, so drop-off can be read step by step.
A human approval gate
Every one of the 40+ assets was reviewed by a specialist before publishing, then QA, publish and a 48-hour check on live data. Two dead tags were removed.
// what the agents did
Read the container and data, mapped every tag and event, drafted the fixes, ran the checks.
// what people decided
Reviewed and approved every asset before publish, owned the dedup contract, signed off the 48-hour check.
What changed
- 40+ GTM assets deployed, each one approved by a person before it went live
- All 9 booking-funnel steps tracked in GA4 and BigQuery
- 3 mis-mapped funnel steps caught before they corrupted the data
- 3 of 4 fixes verified in live data; the fourth sits in the client's booking platform and was handed to their team with a written spec
